'The Mystic Rose'
Stephen E Meakin
Organised in conjunction with START, a non-profit art education programme, The Mystic Rose brings together works by geometer, architect and artist Stephen E Meakin. After studying design at Bournemouth in the late 1980s, Meakin went on to travel to some of the world's scared sites only to return to school and study architecture and interior design at The University of Brighton in the UK. Drawing inspiration from his numerous travels, his works combine traditional Islamic traditions and geometrical patterns with Celtic knot-work. As a geometer, his pieces are composed of lines, points, surfaces and solids.
